SAURO ROCCHI

Mesticheria Casadei, C.so Diaz 57. 26/06/2010 - 09/07/2010

In recent weeks the Forlì has become a leader in the showcase of Mesticheria Casadei through some ink drawings of the master watercolor Sauro Rocchi. In many years of honorable service, winner of several honors public Rocchi was in fact always tried to portray its cities and small towns of Romagna, going to recreate a story in pictures that earned him the title of "singer for images of the city Forlì " (cited Rusticali Franco). Prestigious buildings, architecture, or even minor glimpses of streets and landscapes are represented by an observation of medium height, the height of public audience of these urban settings that often go unnoticed in the hurried and distracted walking around the city. The same citizens who, though living these spaces every day, do not appear on the drawings Sauro Rocchi which focuses on the constructed, portraying him with short, quick strokes that make the structure manufacturer tion essential. Self-taught, yet despite the broad consensus that continues to define his work a hobby and himself a documentary rather than an artist. He always avoided the dealer market, announcing a more widespread dissemination of its work through postcards, city guides, individual paintings and lithographs that have allowed many to know the changes Forlì the city has undergone over a century, such as the demolition of the old gates on the walls.

hope that this passion for the Sauro-Romagna Rocchi shared with other great masters like Ettore Santarelli Nadin and Elio which also boasted of esteem and friendship-we will hand on to future generations, we report the dedication that the teacher has left on a its Album of views:

"[..] addressed to future generations of Forli, and not wishing to restrict attention to the history and images of Forlì lower end of the twentieth century. "
